Welcome to the October Edtech Show & Tell, in which our editors share some of the new edtech products that have caught our attention this month. These are not reviews or endorsements, but a showcase of education-friendly items, platforms, and more that we think might be noteworthy for you.

This month’s new offerings include a Copilot+ PC laptop computer, supplemental phonics resource, a digital signage media player, and much more.

The ASUS Vivobook S15 features a slim 14.7 mm, 1.42 kg all-metal body, a fast charging 70 Wh battery (up to 19 hours of use), an RGB backlit keyboard, and a 15.6-inch 3K 120 Hz ASUS Lumina OLED display. The Copilot key provides instant access to AI tools while the touchpad offers intuitive gesture controls. Two USB4 ports, USB 3.2, HDMI 2.1, a microSD slot, and WiFi 7 deliver connection speeds up to 5.8 Gbps.

Stairway Decodables is a supplemental phonics resource for extra practice in small group instruction, independent reading, and at home. The series is organized into six steps. Each step features books that provide students with practice in decoding words with specific phonics sounds. Each book is clearly labeled to help educators and caregivers easily identify the right resource for their reader.

Futurelab+ offers a comprehensive biotechnology curriculum for high school students that includes content addressing health equity and inclusivity and representation in clinical research. The capstone resources provide a variety of tools supporting the creation of projects that demonstrate student knowledge as applied to a real-world biotechnology problem. Resources include a project management guide, a student capstone journal, project starters, rubric, and project exemplars.

The MVC 121 xi is a compact, three-source audio mixer, featuring audio DSP for mixing and signal processing. It provides a stereo line level input and two mic/line level inputs with 48 volt phantom power for condenser microphones, plus fixed and variable stereo line level outputs. Included are gain, filters, bass, and treble tone controls, along with parametric EQ. Quick parameter configuration is accomplished using the front panel controls or DSP Configurator Pro software.

The VP92+ has dual HDMI ports that allows users to employ one player to present two screens of the same content, different content or simultaneous content. Each VP92+ player comes with 64GB of RAM and ARM’s Quad-core G52-2EE processor, which contains four processing cores in a single chip. The unit runs on an Android operating system and can play 4K video at 60fps.
